DANIEL RIEPPEL IN RECITAL: The 25th Anniversary of his Twin Cities’ Ordway Debut

Please join pianist, conductor and noted pedagogue Daniel Rieppel in a recital which commemorates the 25th anniversary of his Twin Cities debut on Saturday evening, April 2nd, 2016 at 7:30 PM in the beautiful acoustics of Antonello Recital Hall, MacPhail Center for Music.  The venue is located at 501 South 2nd Street in downtown Minneapolis, near the famed Guthrie Theatre.  Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for all students with valid ID.

Dr. Rieppel’s program will feature several notable compositions that he performed on his original McKnight Ordway debut; they will include several preludes by Claude Debussy, the “Wanderer” Fantasy by Franz Schubert and the arresting and virtuosic Fantasia baetica of Manual de Falla. Dr. Rieppel had recently relocated to the Twin Cities in 1990 from Munich, Germany, where he had been in the Meisterklasse of his mentor Gerhard Oppitz.  Maestro Oppitz is the most prolifically recorded pianist in German history.

During the recital, Dr. Rieppel will offer commentary on the music itself, as well as his life as a musician in the Twin Cities. The public is warmly invited to attend!DanRieppelAtPiano2009 (4)
